RCBank Sets to Do More in 2024

The leading financial institution in Sierra Leone, Rokel Commercial Bank has on Friday 9th February 2024, updated members of the press on its Manifesto of the Year 2023 and vision of the Bank for the year 2024.
This ceremony was held at the conference room of the Rokel Commercial Bank branch at Eastern Police in Freetown.
The Country Representative of AAA – SL Chapter, Mr. Abdul Wahab applauded Dr. Walton Ekundayo Gilpin for winning the Banker of the year award organized by the House of Lords Palace of Westminster at the Marriot Hotel country Hall.
This ceremony, he said is recognized by the Global Reputation forum (Reputable Banker and Fintech Awards) Powered by Reputation poll international United Kingdom. He added on behalf of Dr Tony Rex Idaminabo the principal Partner of African Achieves Awards Reputation poll international; he extended their congratulations to the Rokel Commercial Bank by winning the category of African Baker of the year 2023.
Mr. Wahab said that the Poll Reputation International is a Strategic Consultancy agency specialized in cooperation reputation management. He added that, the RPI always host more than five event annually that geared towards recognizing excellent individual and organisations and also celebrate outstanding Africans businesses or institutions that have made significant contribution in the world. He further stated that Mr. Gilpin received the Global impact African achievers Awards and he was recognized as a Global Board Member for the African Achievers Award in Sierra Leone. He continued that in 2021 to 2022, he was Awarded Excellence in Leadership and recognized in the group of 50 elite Bankers in Africa. In 2023, he stated that, Mr. Gilpin was awarded as the best Banker of the Year 2023 in Africa.
On his part, the Managing Director of Rokel Commercial Bank, Dr. Ekundayo Gilpin that the recognition of the bank by an international organization means that they are doing a great work in Sierra Leone. He stated that, this means further that they have changed the narrative and perception of the bank in the country as whole that Sierra Leone is doing something that is recognized globally. On that note, Mr. Gilpin said that Rokel Commercial Bank will continue to support the people of Sierra Leone with better and unique services in the banking sector.
Mr. Gilpin disclosed that on the 22 February 2024, they will hold a symposium on Cybersecurity and financial inclusion in partnership with EST Applied Intelligence (UK) at the City Hall and the Symposium aim to bring together industry leaders, political leaders, experts and innovators to discuss the top five priorities of the African Banker of the year. He further said that enhancing the commercial bank sector which is the cashless ecosystem, banking process Automation, cybersecurity resilience, Digital Transformation and artificial Intelligence is very key. He added that the symposium will help bankers and the bank to compete with other financial institutions globally. He added that potential participants like Government agencies, educational institutions, banking financial sectors players, international partners in the banking IT and cybersecurity sector from UK and elsewhere will able to access the bank easily.
