2 Kush Manufacturers Arrested

Desmond Charles Bamidele Frazer and Hannah Alimamy made their first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No 1, in Freetown, for possession of materials to be used for the manufacturing of kush without authority.

According to police charged sheet, the accused persons Desmond Charles Bamidele Frazer and Hannah Almamy on Monday 18th December, 2023 at No.19 Mudge Farm Wilkinson Road in Freetown in the Freetown Judicial District, in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone were found in possession of twenty nine (29) polythene bags weight 49.3 Kilograms of dried leaves used in the manufacturing of drugs,33 bags plastic container containing liquid substance suspected to be precursors chemical use in manufacturing drugs each weigh five liters with the inscription Acetone 99.5% Propane 2.1,10 and transparent plastic containers containing liquid substance suspected to be precursors chemical weigh five litres each inscription made up of 99.95% pure methyl Alcohol

ASP Ibrahim Mansaray led in prosecuting witness number one Joseph Stevens who testified in court.

Joseph Stevens who is a florenzic analyst for the Sierra Leone Police attached at the transnational Organization Crime Unit stated that, on the 20th December 2023, Detective Sergeant 20310 transmitted 33 bags plastic container containing liquid substance suspected to be precursor’s chemical use in manufacturing drugs. Each weigh five litres with an inscription Acetone 99.5% Propane 2.1 and 29 transparent pullitin bags containing large quantity of dried leaves substance each weigh 1.7kg,

10 transparent plastic containers containing liquid substance suspected to be precursors chemical weigh five litres each inscription Butanol 99.95% pure methyl Alcohol.

Having received the request, the witness then said that he conducted presumptive analysis and examination to determine the nature of the allegations.

In a bid to make progress with the testimony, Joseph Stevens produced and tendered the request letter to form part of the court records.

After that, the witness said that he collected each of the exhibit and took them to the laboratory to conduct the final examination and analysis.

In a bid to defend the accused persons, the defense counsel Lawyer Madieu Sesay applied for bail for his clients but was denied.

Magistrate Sahr Kekura refused both accused persons bail and remanded them to the Correctional Centers due to the seriousness of the case and it is of public interest.

The matter was adjourned to the 5th April, 2024.
