Over Aiding & Abetting Escape Of Wanted Persons…
Police Declares Hassan Sesay Wanted
According to police sources, one Hassan Sesay, a lecturer at Milton Margai Technical University, University of Sierra Leone, has been declared wanted on allegation of aiding and abetting the escape of the former ADC to the erstwhile President Ernest Bai Koroma, and one Captain Kamara of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF), who is also wanted in respect of missing ammunition.
However, our Investigation on the said matter revealed that Hassan Sesay is believed to be a fervent supporter and active member of the now, main opposition party (APC), and this affiliation has been the cause of all his troubles. Our Investigation uncovered several attacks and accusations against Hassan Sesay, mainly by sympathyzers or ruling party operatives at the University, often leading to victimization of the lecturer by colleagues and even the administration of the University, which seemed to have been politicized.
Family sources, who spoke to this medium on basis of anonymity, explained that ruling party operatives and the security forces stormed the residence of Hassan Sesay, allegedly looking for arms and ammunition, and had often harassed Hassan and family. They maintained that things became alarming when the police accused Hassan Sesay of aiding and abetting the escape of the ADC to former President Koroma, who was wanted by the government on missing ammunition, allegedly in connivance with one Captain Kamara and others. As intelligence of a pending attack on the residence of Hassan Sesay filtered through from close friends in the force, Hassan Sesay is said to have narrowly escaped capture by a combined team of military and police officers, as the information of the raid and arrest came to him minutes before the raid. The armed officers are said to have ransacked the house, beat up inmates of the house, after being unable to find him. They threatened to arrest anyone hiding information about the whereabouts of Hassan Sesay.
Family sources say that Hassan brought himself to the police for questioning after weeks of hiding. Police sources also confirmed to this medium that they indeed have him in custody and may be released after pending investigations.
This medium will continue to investigate this matter.
