Businessman Committed to High Court for Fraud

Magistrate Peter Gogra of Court No.6 has committed Abdulai Conteh , a businessman to High Court for fraudulently converting mobile phone to his own used and benefit entrusted to him by the complainant Ibrahim Foday Kamara.
Abdulai Conteh was arraigned before the court on one count of fraudulent conversion contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
Police records showed that the accused, on Thursday 10th August, 2023 at Horton Street, in Freetown, fraudulently converted to his own used and benefit certain property that is to say one Techno Spark 10 mobile phone valued at two thousand leones (NLe2,000) entrusted to him by Ibrahim Foday Kamara for the purpose of safe keeping which is the property of Isata Sesay (complainant).
The prosecutor witnesses were led in evidence including the factual witness.
Delivering his ruling Magistrate Gogra stated that, based on the evidence before the court the prosecution has adduced sufficient evidence against the accused which has prompted him to commit the matter to the High Court for further hearing.
However, he granted the accused thirty leones (NLe30 ,000) bail with two sureties in like sum.
Sureties should reside in the Western Area and must produce valid identity cards, showing their addresses in Freetown.
Sureties should also furnish the court with valid passport books.
According to the bail condition, one of the sureties, should be employed in a government institution with a pin code.
Bail should be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Marie Sesay was prosecuting the matter.
