CLITORIS AND CLITORAL STIMULATION

 [Importance Succinctly Discussed]

By Paul S. Dangha (Environmental Scientist)

Clitoris is an organ found in the anterior upper  portion of the labial minora [Female reproductive system, external genitalia].

It is homologous to the male’s penis, but has no reproductive value. It’s a zone for sexual pleasure.

The glans (head) of the human clitoris is roughly the size and shape of a pea and is estimated to have about 8,000 sensory nerve endings [Carroll, 2012].

The clitoris has an abundance of nerve endings, and is the human female’s most sensitive erogenous zone, and generally the primary anatomical source of human female sexual pleasure [Rodgers, 2003].

It’s not a myth, but fact that most women achieve orgasm through clitoral stimulation than vaginal penetration. Another reason why Female Genital Mutilation (Clitoridectomy, a surgical removal of the clitoris for religious or cultural purposes) should never be practiced is that it’s a crime against humanity!

According to a 2015 internet-based survey published in the Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy, which received responses from over 1,000 U.S. women, 36 percent reported that clitoral stimulation helped them get orgasm during intercourse, whereas slightly more than 18 percent reported they orgasmed from intercourse alone
