Orange Money & Skye Bank Launch Bank 2 Wallet Service

In a colourful ceremony, Orange Money and Skye Bank have launched a partnership on Bank 2 Wallet Service on Wednesday 31st July 2024.
The event took place at the auditorium Orange Money Building by Hill Station opposite NATCOM Building in Freetown.
The ceremony was chaired by Yemata and the room was filled with representatives from both institutions.
Welcoming all and sundry and stating the purpose of the session, the Head of Marketing for Skye Bank, Miss Yealie Fofanah expressed her excitement for seeing that the long-awaited day had come to reality. Continuing with her speech, she stated that the press conference was organized to launch a partnership on Bank 2 Wallet Service between Orange Money and Skye Bank. In addition to her submission, she stated that for a very long time Skye Bank has been yearning to have a partnership with Orange Money, adding that, such will help to maintain the satisfaction of their customers.
The Head of Marketing for Skye Bank, Miss Fofanah, concluded by saying that the partnership is a sign that Skye Bank would always bring in initiatives that would breed customers’ satisfaction.
Delivering a statement from the Executive Director of Skye Bank, Mr. Akinremi Akinwale Oladipo, expressed his happiness to see that the partnership come to reality. In his statement, he said that it had been a long journey and that it had always been the wish of Skye Bank to partner with Orange Money to ensure the satisfaction of their customers. Additionally, he said that the objective of the press conference was to launch the said partnership. In his voice, he said that there are many Banks within the country and that the purpose of partnering with Orange Money is not to compete with other banks in the country that are having partnerships with Orange Money instead their partnership is to ensure that they always satisfy their customers. He continued by saying that as a bank, they have realized that Orange Money has a wide range of coverage within the country, and as a result, they have deemed it apt to leverage that coverage, especially to their customers in the interior parts of the country. The Executive Director of Skye Bank, Mr. Oladipo punctuated the minds of all and sundry that as a bank they would always continue to work with one of the goals of Sierra Leone Bank which is FINANCIAL INCLUSION. He added by saying this financial inclusion could not be achieved if there is little or no coverage. Thus, he said that the partnership with Orange Money would help them achieve this financial inclusion throughout their existence because Orange Money has unlimited coverage.
Stating the importance of this partnership, Mr. Oladipo said that modern-day banking those not necessarily require converging in cue at the bank. Statistically, he said that 70% of people do not go to the bank to do their transactions. He said that via Orange Money, such transactions could be easily done. In a bid to conclude with his speech, he said that this partnership would continue to foster convenience and satisfaction for their customers. Thanking Orange Money, the Executive Director of Skye Bank Mr. Oladipo said that their customers would leap for joy for such a partnership.
Receiving a statement from the Chief Executive Officer of Orange Money Mr. David Kanu, started by stating his delight in seeing the launch partnership between Skye Bank and Orange Money into reality. In his speech, he said that the partnership has been one of their targets in recent times. Complementing his entire team, he said that Orange Money is partnering with eight banks across the country. He punctuated the minds of all and sundry that the reason for the partnership is because of the huge benefit the banks enjoy from them. Stating one of the key functions of the partnership, the CEO of Orange Money said that the partnership creates more access for individuals to do transactions effectively and efficiently. Additionally, he stated that in the recent past, accessibility has been a key challenge faced in terms of transactions. He said that as an institution, they exist to bridge such a gap. He continued by saying these banks including Skye Bank are partnering with them and need not have banks across the sixteen districts within the country to satisfy their customers. He said, that with Orange Money, transactions can be easily done and hence achieve customers’ satisfaction.
Emphasizing the satisfaction of customers, the CEO of Orange Money said that the partnership would harness the strength of both institutions to maintain and improve customers’ satisfaction.
He concluded by appreciating the event organizers for making the press conference a success.
