Teacher Dragged to Court for Cyber Stalking

Forty-three years old Dura Sapateh Fornah, a teacher made another appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown on two count charges ranging from Cyber Stalking and Cyber bullying contrary to section 44 (1) (a) of the Cyber Security and Crime Act 2021.
According to the particulars of offence, on Saturday 29th June 2024 in Freetown through Social Media via WhatsApp account number with title Dura Sapateh created and posted stalked text messages by means of computer system of network in a bid to stalk Dr Brian Konton of No. 79 Smart Farm off Wilkinson Road in the Western Area of Freetown that may likely damaged his character and cause apprehension and provocation to breach the peace.
Count two further stated that on the same date and place, the accused person did use his WhatsApp account number +232 78383131 with title Dura Sapateh created and posted bullied text messages by means of computer system or network in a bid to bully Dr Brian Konton of #79 Smart Farm off Wilkinson Road the Western area in Freetown that may likely cause him and balance his physical being.
Defending the accused person, the defense counsel C. Kamara Esq applied for bail for and on behalf of the accused person that he is a Sierra Leonean resident within this jurisdiction that he has reliable sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognisance on his behalf he will not interfere with prosecution witness or witnesses nor will he jumped bail he made his application pursuant to section 79 (2) of the Criminal Procedure Act No.32 of 1965.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Kekura granted the accused person bail in the sum of one hundred thousand leones with one surety in like sum surety must be resident in the Western Area surety to produce valid identity card depicting his or her address in Freetown.
Bail to be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar. The matter was adjourned to the 15th August 2024.
