Eight Remanded for Riotous Conduct

Abu Sesay, Lamin Koroma, Alpha Kabbia alias pelleh, Samuel Fornah, Mohamed Sesay, Issa Tarawally alias Smoky”, Mohamed Koroma Indian man”, and lsatu Tarawally has been remanded by Magistrate Sahr Kekura at Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown for riotous conduct.

The accused were charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit a crime contrary to Law of Sierra Leone that the accused persons on Sunday 12^th May 2024, at Marimbo, Juba Hill, Freetown, conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a crime to wit riotous conduct contrary to section 12(a)of the public order Act No 46 of 1965 as repealed and replaced by Act No.15 of 1973.

The Defense Counsel, I. Turay applied for bail for and on behalf of all accused persons in the duck, but Magistrate Kekura refused bail and remanded all accused persons to the Male Correctional Center in Freetown.

Police prosecutor Sergeant 9939 Lahi M. Sought for a short-adjourned date for him to have proper conference with his witnesses.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Kekura has adjourned the matter to the 15^th July 2024.
