What’s Next for Samura Kamara?

After the peace dialogue that ended the impasse between members of the ruling SLPP party and the main opposition APC party, tongues are still wagging on the political fate of Dr. Samura Kamara in the politicking of the APC party.

Many people have described Samura Kamara as the Moses that only sees the promise land but could not enter into it. Some have even argued that Samura Kamara needs a break in the politicking of the APC party and that the resignation of Samura Kamra will allow fresh air into the party and make room for others to freely battle for the flagbearer race in the 2028 Presidential Elections.

Furthermore, these APC stalwarts have applauded Samura Kamara for the display of political maturity before, during and after the 2023 elections but have called on him to desist from contesting in the flagbearer race of the APC party.

‘’It is prudent for him to resign from the national politics and allow others to contest for the flagbearer race,’’ an APC stalwart stated, adding that, Samura Kamara has contested twice as presidential candidate and it is high time to say goodbye to the political tantrum of our harshly body politics.  Some have even stated that Samura Kamara needs to show more political maturity by respectfully resigning from national politics and occupies the elderly position in the APC party to offer counselling to members of the party in time of distress or when making critical decisions.

Many APC supporters who shared their views with this medium mentioned that just like Joshua completed the task of leading the Israelites into the Promised Land after Moses failed; so, the APC party needs someone to complete the good work of Samura Kamara in the 2028 Presidential Elections.

So far, many supporters and members of the APC party have applauded Samura Kamara for demonstrating leadership and loyalty to the party but have appealed to him to step down in contesting the 2028 Presidential Elections.
