SLPP Deputy Sec. Gen Dr. Chakanda Expresses Thanks to Kono People for Voting President Bio

Being the only National Executive Member of the SLPP from Kono, as Deputy Secretary General, Dr. Robert Chakanda over the week end, visited Kono to thank the people of Kono for their unflinching support for the second term bid of President Bio, as well as delivering several seats of both Members of Parliament and Council to the SLPP.
Speaking to residents in Kono, Dr. Chakanda expressed gratitude to the Almighty God for giving the party and Sierra Leone a person like President Bio as leader. He maintained that prior to the campaign His Excellency embarked on taking development to the district, furthering that all these development projects were tangible evidence of his work to make the people of Kono know that Kono matters to the SLPP and his government. He elaborated on the various development projects brought to the district by President bio, identifying some as priority projects like the construction of a University in the district, a recognition that the people of Kono deserve better educational facility and reduce the strain of coming to Freetown for higher education. He also highlighted the construction of two bridges that have now helped to save lives of residents, as the absence of bridge in those areas had destructive effect of residents, as many died from drowning.
He thanked President Bio for the momentum he gave them in taking the campaign to Kono, adding that he made a lot of trips to the district during campaign, and apart from the campaign, His Excellency visited Kono some 19 times. President Bio did not campaign abstractly, but showed tangible work, like electricity, the road from Koidu to Gandor, a place dominated by C4C party people, but his work captivated their attention, now started a party office, made the hospital in Kono, one of the best and the construction of the University. These development projects observed by the people of Kono was seen as President Bio giving them a substance in the various developments in the district.
Dr. Chakanda expressed commendation and appreciation to the First Lady, Madam Fatima Bio, a daughter of the soil, for her relentless efforts in ensuring that the people of Kono are considered in the development projects of the country, and for her constant visit to the district.
The Deputy National Secretary General of the SLPP also expressed appreciation to the Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, the Paramount Chief of Mono, the elected Members of Parliament, SLPP District Executives, party grassroots, traders, bike riders, marshals of the SLPP, Physically challenged, members of the various ethnic groups in Kono, for voting for development than for color, and the security forces, as well as the rest of the nation for supporting President Bio’s second term bid, naming top Executive members and those instrumental, though behind the scenes, workers for the victory of the President and the party, and for their relentless efforts in ensuring victory in the just concluded elections that has seen the party making in-roads to hitherto opposition strongholds.
In concluding, Dr. Chakanda expressed President Bio’s appreciation to all Sierra Leoneans for their support and the confidence reposed in him to lead the nation for a second term.
