Kasho Holland-Cole Declares Re-election Bid

On Wednesday March 2023, at Basa Town Field, Waterloo, Western Area Rural District, outgoing Chairman of the Council from the All People’s Congress (APC) party, declared his intention for re-election as WardC Chairman. The meeting was attended by some Basa Town youths, 25 Councilors, some Members of Parliament and the West West District Clergy, Pastor Adams and the District Youth Leader, H.M Weysul.

In his statement, Kasho J Holand-Cole expressed happiness in being able to explain to his people his work so far, adding that he is loved by everyone, especially the Waterloo people. “Sierra Leoneans are suffering and we are here to redeemed our people from this suffering”, he stressed. He furthered that the prices of goods are increasing on a daily basis, distinguishing that during the tenure of former President Ernest Bai Koroma, things were very cheap. He noted that a bag of Rice is now going for over NLe600, which was left by the APC government at Nle200. Fuel, he went on, was sold at NLe7 per litre, but now it is going for NLe21,50 per litre. He also mentioned the intimidation which their part has encountered in Parliament, with the removal of some of their MPs through the Court, but maintained that they have stood strong and will continue to work for the betterment of the country. Kasho stressed that the people need change, and the APC is ready to be that change. He disclosed that taking up office in 2018, he met the WardC account at NLe 22000, but he has transformed it to NLe 8 billion, with schools and markets built, adding that he met only 15 staff, but now they have more than 100 staff, being paid salary of NLe900 and above, as well as NASSIT being paid for them, stressing that his work has been favourably recognized by the ACC. with the issuance of a Certificate.

After making his declaration for re-election, Kasho outlined some of his plans if re-elected, disclosing that he will allocate from the government’s budgetary allocation to his District, NLe3 billion for the women, NLe1 Billion for the youths, NLe1 billion for the disabled, NLe 500 million for the children, NLe700 millions for sports and entertainment, NLe500 million for Chiefs and Headmen, and NLe500 millions for Culture.
