12 Bike Riders Charged to Court for Riotous Conduct

Sajoh Jalloh, Abubakar Mansaray, Alie Daddy Mansaray, Ibrahim Young Koroma, Hassan Sowa, Amidu Tholley, Mohamed Gbla, Nat Sheik Ansumana, Smith Karim Kamara, Alhassan Gbla, Sheik Alhaji John Sober and John Karim Kamara a bike riders made their first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1 in Freetown on four count charges to wit Assault occasioning actual bodily harm, Riotous conduct, Disorderly behavior and throwing missiles

According to the particulars of offence, on Wednesday 24th April 2024, at New England Ville in the western area of Freetown, assaulted Patrick Gbatilo Kpaka and Abdul Aziz in a manner thereby causing them actual bodily harm.

Count two, the accused persons on the above date and place behave in a riotous manner. On count three, the accused persons on the above date and place did behave in a disorderly manner. On count four, the accused persons on the above date and place were found throwing missiles at Patrick Gbatilo Kpaka, Abdul Aziz, Mustapha and police personnel of the Central Division.

When the charges were read and explained to the accused persons, they pleaded not guilty

When the matter was mentioned, the prosecute told the bench that the complainant Patrick Gbatilo Kpaka who is  the Regional Secretary at the Bike Riders Association said he is no longer interested in the matter.

Meanwhile Magistrate Kekura discharged the matter pursuant to section 94 of the Criminal procedure Act No.32 of 1965.  Sergeant 9939 Mohamed Lahai prosecuted the matter.
