NASSIT Observes 21st Annual Thanksgiving Service

The National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT), has on Friday 12th January 2024, observed its 21st annual thanksgiving service at the Jamiul Salaam Mosque at Third Street, Mountain Cut in the Western Area of Freetown.

Presiding over the religious ceremony, the Chief Imam of Jamiul Salaam Mosque who doubles as Chief Ahmad Owolabie Tjan thanked Almighty Allah for making it possible for all of them to converge in the Mosque to worship Him. He added by applauding the Director General of NASSIT for always putting Allah first in their work. He continued by welcoming everyone including the current Director General of NASSIT Mr. Fuad Daaboh for providing the leadership at NASSIT. He further underscored that, NASSIT plays a pivotal role in the country by ensuring that workers who have been contributing to the scheme received their pension. He also admonished the entire congregation to support the work of NASSIT, adding by encouraging all employers to pay the contribution of their staff. He emphasized further that any employer that abides to the rules set out by NASSIT will be graciously rewarded by Allah.

‘’Every employer should pay 10% to NASSIT while the employee should pay the 5% to NASSIT,’’ he disclosed, stating further that, the work of NASSIT is very good in the sight of Allah, stressing that it will help to support people especially in time of need. He congratulated NASSIT for observing their 21st annual thanksgiving service.

On his part, the Director General of NASSIT, Mr. Fuad Daaboh thanked the Chief Imam and the entire members of the Jamiul Salaam Mosque for supporting them in observing their 21st annual thanksgiving service. As a Muslim himself, Mr. Daaboh informed the gathering that he believes that to organize a ceremony in thanking the Almighty God is very important to all Muslims. He further explained that NASSIT as a government institution has been in existence in twenty-one years and as Muslims working in the institutions appreciate Almighty God for inspiring them in support of the people of Sierra Leone especially those who have been paying their contribution to them. He concluded by thanking the government of Sierra Leone and their staff nationwide for their priceless support towards the work of NASSIT.
