Afrimoney Signs Marriage With ‘Keke’ Union

On Friday 12th May 2023, Afrimoney in collaboration with Sierra Leone Commercial Tricycle Riders Union, signed a partnership agreement at Africell’s Headquarters on Wilberforce in Freetown. Through this partnership, dues to be paid by riders to the Union, as well as payment of fares by passengers can be done digitally through Afrimoney.

 

Speaking during the ceremony, John Konteh, Head of Marketing and Communications at Africell, told the audience that Africell is happy for the partnership between Afrimoney and the Sierra Leone Commercial Tricycle Riders Union, adding that they have had very good working relationship with the Union, furthering that as part of the company’s commitment to providing good services for the people of Sierra Leone, they have introduced this partnership, which will ease the way of doing business for the riders, as well as their passengers.

 

In his statement, President of the Sierra Leone Commercial Tricycle Riders Union, Ibrahim Serry, described the partnership with Afrimoney as very important for their business, and expressed appreciation to the company for coming up with this initiative. He told the audience that this event is as a result of the agreement reached with their membership, after much consultations, and they are happy that this has come to reality. He encouraged riders to buy Africell sims and join the Afrimoney service, as they too have gone digital, and called on his membership to do their transactions using Afrimoney platform.

 

Martison Obeng-Ageye, Managing Director of Afrimoney, while expressing pleasure in signing this partnership with the Union, said that transportation plays an integral part in the development of any country’s economy, stressing that this partnership will enhance the service provided by the riders to the people, and meet their obligations to the Union. He noted that this partnership will be beneficial to both parties, and will be a turning point for Kekeh Riders.

 

Martison Obeng-Ageye encouraged Kekeh Riders to embrace the digital economy, as the world is going digital, and they should not be left behind, in compliance with the vision of the country’s President that no one should be left behind in this revolution.

 

“This signing ceremony today is only the beginning of many good things to come, as we work to make the lives of Sierra Leoneans better; we start by influencing the lives of Keke Riders. We will provide many things that will make this relationship possible. At Afrimoney and Africell, we say we love you and we are with you today. If you touch one Keke rider, you touch Afrimoney.” he concluded.

 

The ceremony was climaxed by the exchange of the agreement document by the Managing Director of Afrimoney and the President of the Sierra Leone Commercial Tricycle Riders Union.
