Leone Construction & Engineering Services Drags Tech Engineer To Court

Ibrahim Kabia an information and Technology engineer, on Wednesday 4th February 2026, made his first appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road court No.1 on an allegation of stealing from the said company.

The defendant was arraigned on four count charges ranging from Larceny by Servant, Contrary to section 17 (1) (a) of the larceny Act 1916 and other related offenses.

According to the particulars of offence; on the 3rd to 6th October 2025 at the Leone construction and engineering services office, No.36 Bathurst Street, Freetown, being a clerk employed by the Leone construction and engineering services, stole the sum of three thousand five hundred Leones(3500), property of the said Leone Construction and engineering services.

The police further alleged on count two that the defendant on a date between the 7th to 8th October 2025 at the same place, being a clerk employed by the Leone construction and engineering services, stole ten thousand Leones(10,000) Property of the said Leone Construction and engineering services.

It was also alleged on Count three that on the 9th October 2025 at the same place, the defendant, being a clerk employed by the Leone construction and engineering services, stole the sum of (7,500), property of the said Leone Construction and engineering services.

Whiles count four added that on the 10th October 2025 at the said place, being a clerk employed by the Leone construction and engineering services, stole one fifty five inches Samsung plasma television valued at one thousand three hundred and fifty united States dollars, and one LG monitor valued at eight hundred Leones, all to the total value of thirty three thousand, nine hundred and fifty Leones (NLe33,950), property of the said Leone Construction and engineering services.

When the charges were read and explained to the defendant, no plea was taken.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Mabel M Tarawally Esq., intimated the bench the she has served the defendant’s Counsel Pursuant to section 98 sub section 1 of the Criminal Procedure Act of 2024, and had formally served the defendant with a copy of the file.

The defendant’s Counsel I. Kargbo Esq., acknowledged receipt of the copy and applied for bail on behalf of the defendant on the grounds that he is a Sierra Leonean resident within the jurisdiction, and has reliable sureties who are willing and ready to go into recognisance on his behalf. He made his application pursuant to section 76 sub 1 C of the Criminal Procedure Act No.8 of 2024

Meanwhile Magistrate Jah admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of fifty thousand Leones with two sureties in like sum; furthermore, sureties must be resident in Freetown and should produce valid identity card depicting his or her addresses in Freetown. The sureties, he said, must be gainfully employed adding that bail should be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar. He then adjourned the matter to the 6th February 2026.
