Police Officer & Lover Caught With 799 Wraps Of Diamba

Augustine Tamba Saffa, a police officer and lover, Isha Conteh, on Monday 27th October 2025, were sent to the High Court for further trial for being in possession of over 700 wraps of Cannabis Sativa.
They were committed to the High Court by Magistrate Mustapha Briama Jah of Pademba Road Court No1.
Both defendants were arraigned before the court on two count charges of Possession of a prohibited drug and dealing with prohibited drug without lawful authority.
The indictment states that officer Saffa, on Monday 1st September 2025 at Yakama Street, New site, Kenema in the Eastern province of Sierra Leone, was found in possession of Seven hundred and ninety nine (799) wraps of cannabis sativa without lawful authority
The indictment further states that the second defendant, Isha, on the same day and place, was found in possession of three parcels of cannabis sativa without lawful authority.
Before the committal, Magistrate Jah stated that he has looked at the evidence before him and is satisfied that the Prosecution has proved their case beyond reasonable doubt. He furthered that the Prosecution called witnesses, whose testimonies corroborated and the said Cannabis Sativa were tendered by the Prosecution for it to form part of their case.
In that regard, officer Saffa and girlfriend Isha, were sent to the High Court for further trial.
They were asked by the Magistrate if they would like to explain their own side of the story at the High Court, to which they responded in the affirmative, adding that they would like to call witnesses to testify on their behalf.
At the end, they appended their signature at the committal form and were sent to the Male and Female Correctional facility until being called at the High Court.
