Pastor Samuel Urges Politicians to Reject Violence
Pastor Samuel, Executive President of Testimony Arena International Ministries, has called on politicians vying for elective positions in the upcoming 2028 general elections to shun hatred and violence, emphasizing that no political ambition should ever warrant the shedding of innocent blood. Delivering his Easter message, Pastor Samuel—who also serves as an intercessor and head of the Liberators—reminded Sierra Leoneans that Easter is a time to renew hope and strengthen faith, even in the face of national challenges. “As the political season approaches, I urge all stakeholders across the political divide to eschew hatred, anger, and violence,” he said. “Politics will come and go, but the spirit of Sierra Leone must endure and continue to flourish,” he emphasized. He stressed that no political office is worth the destruction of lives, stating that there is no ambition so sacred that it justifies turning our beloved nation into a cauldron of violence. All power belongs to God, and He alone grants it to whom He favors. Pastor Samuel commended the youth of Sierra Leone for their commitment to peace and development, noting, “We have, over the years, remained an oasis of peace and tranquillity. I salute our resourceful youths who have chosen to invest in the future—a future of plenty, fulfilment, growth, and development.” He strongly warned against a return to the dark days of violence, saying, “We must never go back to those years when fear ruled our nights, when politically motivated violence and killings undermined our collective sense of purpose. The security of lives and property must remain the foundation of governance.” Addressing the broader significance of Easter, Pastor Samuel urged all Sierra Leoneans—Christians, Muslims, and especially the youth—to reflect on the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which symbolizes triumph, hope, and renewal. “In times of great distress, what we need is unwavering faith and the courage to face and overcome our challenges,” he stated. “With our faith anchored in Christ, we remain determined to change the developmental narrative of Sierra Leone,” he added. He concluded by calling for unity, peace, and love among citizens. “Let this Easter be a time to rededicate ourselves to the values of love, peaceful coexistence, and national unity. This is the vision of our Prosperity Administration, and we are committed to a brighter future for Sierra Leone,” he concluded.
