SLPHA Concludes Draft Concession Agreement with Africa Global Logistics

The Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA), in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Minister, the Law Officers’ Department, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Transport and Aviation, and the National Commission for Privatization (NCP), has on Wednesday 22nd January 2025, concluded draft addenda to the Concession Agreement and License Agreement respectively. These agreements address the repair and maintenance of the quay walls and regulate bulk and break-bulk cargo operations in Sierra Leone’s waters. The draft agreements focus on the repair and maintenance of berths 3, 4, 5, and 6, as well as the extension of the license agreement for bulk and break-bulk cargo operations at the port. This represents a critical step toward enhancing port infrastructure and improving operational efficiency. The agreements are now subject to cabinet approval and parliamentary ratification. This development underscores the government’s commitment to improving maritime trade, upgrading infrastructure, and ensuring sustainable growth in Sierra Leone’s port sector.
