Hope For An APC Victory Hinges On Sam Sumana

Senior stalwart member of the APC party, Ibrahim Ben Kargbo informed members of the press on Tuesday 16th April 2024 that the APC party has resolved to formally reinstate Alhaji Chief Samuel Sam Sumana, former Vice President of the republic of Sierra Leone back to the party.

 

“We believe that the APC party needs strong people like Samuel Sam Sumana,” he added, furthering that, Sam Sumana should be encouraged to return to the party in full fledge.

Honorable Ibrahim Ben Kargbo continued by stating that, the party has written an official letter to the National Advisory Committee which is the highest decision making body of the APC party to take a decision to reinstate Sam Sumana back to the APC party, disclosing further that, this is a decision that Sam Sumana should be willing and ready to accept.

“If we want to win the 2028 election, we should utilize all the available human resource,” Honorable Kargbo added, expressing further by noting that, it is important for Sam Sumana to return back to the APC party. Honorable Ibrahim Ben Kargbo further emphasized that, the current leadership of the APC party should extend an olive branch to all those that have been expelled from the party to see reasons for coming back to the party. He further called on the membership not to cast blame on anyone but to demonstrate readiness by embracing peace and unity. He also appealed to the stakeholders of the party to ensure that unity prevails in the party.

 

Foreign Exchange Bureau Manger Remanded for Fraud

Twenty-Six year old Yomie Bai Sesay, a Branch Manager of Ambchelle foreign Exchange Bureau has made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No.2 in Freetown on a count of Embezzlement contrary to section 17 (b) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the particulars of offence, on a date between 17th February to 27th March 2024, at Baggie Amara and Ambchelle foreign Exchange Bureau at Regent village, in the Mountain Rural District Western Rural District in Freetown embezzled the sum of twenty one thousand six hundred and twenty four Leones (21,624).

When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, no plea was taken.

The prosecutor Deputy Superintendent of police Sorie Conteh sought for a short adjournment date for him to get proper conference with his witnesses whilst the accused person was not represented by legal counsel.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Bangura refused remanded the accused person to the male correctional facility in Freetown.

The matter was adjourned to the 24th April 2024 for further hearing.
