PM Ferry Captain on Remand for Murder

Alimamy Sesay, an assistant captain at PM Ferry was on Thursday 4th April 2024 sent on remand by Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 for the alleged murder of Osman Sesay.
The accused made his first appearance in court and was charged with one count of murder contrary to section 1 of the offences against the persons Act 1861 as repealed and replaced by section 1 (a) of the schedule of the Abolition of the death penalty Act 2021, Act No 6 of 2022.
According to the particulars of offense, the accused Alimamy Sesay on Wednesday 10th January 2024, at Shipyard, Kaninkay in Freetown murdered Osman Sesay.
When the charge was read, no plea was taken and no legal representation was made on his behalf.
The police prosecutor Sergeant 8811 Wilson F M informed the court that her witness were present but could not proceed and in the circumstances requested for an adjournment.
Magistrate Bangura however remanded the accused in prison and adjourned the matter to Monday 8th April 2024 for further hearing.
