Actress Ejatu Barrie Supports Colleague Entertainer
On Saturday, 15th May 2023, amidst news of the death of Vida Green, a popular female entertainer in the country, which eventually turned to be false. One of Sierra Leone’s female actress, Ejatu Barrie, made a donation of Le10,0000,00000 (Ten million Leones) to the family of the entertainer, as her contribution to the well-being of her colleague entertainer, who was reportedly sick.
According to Ejatu Barrie, this donation had been long in the planning, but since she got to know about Vida’s health condition during the Ramadan period, she decided to wait and make it later. She furthered that she was shocked when news of the demise of Vida gained momentum, but expressed relief in learning that she was still alive and responding to treatment. She furthered that the time that the Vida Concert Committee was amassing contribution was short, but upon enquiries from the Committee, she was informed that they were still open to receiving any donation to her course. Upon getting this information, Ejatu said that she wasted no time to make her contribution to the health of her colleague entertainer. She encouraged others to embrace such gesture, adding that “We have to make an effort, despite current situation, we have to make an effort to help. Islam encourages it, and humanity commands it.”
Ejatu Barrie noted that this is not her first time of making such gestures, but has been doing so and not making it public. She expressed that someone passionate about helping others, she will continue to lend a helping hand wherever it is needed. She stressed that what is done for humanity is what counts and one will be rewarded by the Almighty for them.
In another development, Ejatu Barrie also donated 50 bags cement to the Masiaka Project, and in an exclusive interview with this writer, explained that she is working on her new movie, which will come out soon, and encouraged Sierra Leoneans to follow her on You Tube channel.
