Armed Robber Gets 100 Years Jail Term

45 Years Old Mohamed Massaquoi alias Kokomani, was on Monday 17th November 2025 sentenced to 100 years imprisonment by Justice Mark Ngegba for Robbery and unlawful possession of Ak 47 fire arms without license.

The convict was arraigned before the court on four count charges of Conspiracy to commit robbery with aggravation, Robbery with aggravation, Possession of arms without license and other related offenses, all contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.

According to the indictment on count one, the defendant, on a date unknown between 21st and 28th July 2025 in Freetown, conspired with other persons unknown to commit robbery with aggravation.

It was further alleged on counts two and three that the convict on the same dates in Freetown, being armed with a gun, robbed Mohamed Marrah and Finda Kamara of one Techno spark 7 mobile phone, one Itel Mobile phone, DVD player and other assorted items, all to the total value of Nle 6,300.

Count four added that the defendant on the same date, was found in possession of two Ak 47 riffle without lawful authority.

When the charges were read and explained to him, he pleaded guilty on all four counts.

Giving a brief fact of the matter, the State Counsel, A Jalloh, informed the court that the defendant on the aforementioned dates in Freetown, robbed the victims, Mohamed Marrah and Finda Kamara, of the said items on the indictment and was also arrested with firearms and ammunition.

By virtue of his plea, he was found guilty on all four counts.

The defendant, in his allocutus, informed the court that he was on drugs when he did the act, and also pleaded with the judge for mercy, stating that he is a new convert to christ now.

State Counsel, A. Jalloh, in his submission asked for a maximum sentence due to the serious nature of the offenses charged, and further requested for the exhibits to be handed over to the small arms commission for destruction.

Justice Mark Ngegba in his ruling, sentenced the defendant on count one, which is conspiracy; to 10 years imprisonment, count 2 Robbery with aggravation, 40, counts 3 Robbery with aggravation, 40 years and counts 4, possession of fire arms, to 10 years, all to run concorently.
