Motorbike Rider Remanded for Fraud

Salieu Sesay, a 28-year-old motorbike rider, made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown, on a charge of Fraudulent Conversion, contrary to Section 20 (i) (iv) (a) of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of the offense, on Friday, October 18, 2024, in Malama Lumley, Western Area, Freetown, Sesay allegedly converted a TVS motorbike with registration number AUO 129, valued at ten thousand Leones (Le10,000), to his own use. The motorbike had been entrusted to him by Ibrahim Kamara for safekeeping.

When the charge was read to the accused, no plea was taken.

Prosecutor Inspector Sellu TAP requested a short adjournment, noting that his witness was absent from court.

Magistrate Kekura denied bail and remanded the accused to the male correctional facility in Freetown. The case was adjourned to November 20, 2024.
