MPs Engage ICPNC Officials

Members of the Parliamentary Committee on Political Affairs and Public Administration on Friday 6th September, 2024 held an engagement with Deputy Executive Secretary and officials of the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion (ICPNC) on the subject of fragility and sustainability of peace in Sierra Leone.

The Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Kemokoh Conteh described the meeting as friendly and engaging.

He said that as a committee they are concerned about the interventions of the Commission and how they are impacting the sociopolitical climate in the country.

Moses Margao, Deputy Executive Secretary, ICPNC expressed appreciation for the invite and registered his Commission’s commitment to work with all institutions including the Sierra Leone Parliament so as to align with their mandate and vision to uphold the tenets of peace and national unity.

The meeting was adjourned until further notice and Members of Parliament and the Commission registered a joint commitment to sustain peace and enhance collaboration in the independent dispensing of their duties.
