Man Dragged to Court for Larceny

Twenty-Six years old Abubakar Conteh unemployed made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown on a count of Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence, on Sunday 28th July 2024 at Law Court Building Siaka Steven Street in the Western Area of Freetown did steal one white Roch 12000 BTU Air conditioners (AC) pipes value fifteen thousand five hundred and twenty-five Leones (15,525,00) property of the Judiciary of Sierra Leone.

When the charge was read and explained to the accused person, he pleaded guilty.

Prosecuting the matter, prosecutor Sergeant 9155 Dwight Macarthy and the Associating Counsel A.Mansary stated that, the fact as charge no previous criminal records against the accused person, and the representative Judiciary Deputy Assistant Registrar Ibrahim Hindolo Katta was present in court.

The accused person was not legally represented; thus, he pleaded with the magistrate to temper justice with mercy on his behalf.

Due to the plea mitigation by the accused person, and he is a first-time offender who has not wasted the court time; Magistrate Bangura sentenced him to three years imprisonment to the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown.
