SLPHA Enhances Professionalism Of 69 Security Personnel

Sixty-nine security personnel of the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority(SLPHA) have commenced a two-week professional training programme at the Sierra Leone Peacekeeping and Law Enforcement Academy (SILEA 1) Campus in Hastings.

The training is designed to strengthen discipline, professional competence, operational readiness and security awareness, enhancing the personnel’s capacity to safeguard port infrastructure, personnel and assets.

Speaking at the opening, Director of Human Resources, Mr. Alhassan George, urged the trainees to take the programme seriously and conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the values and standards of SLPHA.

The training, which represents the second batch of SLPHA security personnel to undergo professional training at SILEA, underscores Management’s continued commitment to human capital development and strengthening security at the ports. The programme combines classroom instruction and practical exercises covering contemporary security operations, discipline, professional conduct and operational effectiveness.

It primarily aims at building the capacity of the staff, strengthening security and protecting Sierra Leone’s Ports and Harbours.
