LPP Chairman Establishes Leadership Institute to Train Prospective 2028 Candidates and Expand Leadership Education

FREETOWN, SIERRA LEONE — Chairman and Leader of the Liberation People’s Party (LPP), Pastor Mohamed Samuel Kamara (MSK), has announced a leadership-development and scholarship initiative targeting qualified Sierra Leoneans, including children of personnel serving in the Sierra Leone Police (SLP), Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF), Office of National Security (ONS), and Sierra Leone Correctional Service, as well as children of primary and secondary school teachers.

The initiative will be implemented through the newly established Liberation Institute of Leadership and Development (LILD), founded by Pastor Kamara to provide training in leadership, governance, public service, accountability and national development.

According to the LPP, individuals seeking to contest under the party in the 2028 elections ,including prospective councillors, Members of Parliament, mayors, chairpersons and candidates for other governance positions will be expected, as part of the party’s internal preparation process, to undertake an approved certificate course at the institute.

Pastor Kamara said the purpose of the initiative is to prepare individuals seeking public responsibility with the knowledge and understanding necessary for public service.

“We do not only want people seeking positions; we want to equip people to serve. Those who want to serve our people must understand leadership, governance, accountability and the responsibility that comes with public office,” Pastor Kamara stated.

FULLY FUNDED SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Through the Victory Teens Organization (VTO), qualified applicants will be considered for fully funded scholarships.

 Special consideration will be given to eligible:

• Children of Sierra Leone Police personnel
• Children of Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces personnel
• Children of Office of National Security personnel
• Children of Sierra Leone Correctional Service personnel
• Children of primary and secondary school teachers
• Other deserving Sierra Leoneans who meet the scholarship requirements

Pastor Kamara said the wider objective is to invest in education, leadership development and human capital while creating opportunities for families of people serving the country through key public institutions.

Scholarship application forms will be available at the Liberation People’s Party office and the Victory Teens Organization office.
