Woman Stabs Man to Death

Isata Bindi was remanded in custody on Friday, 16th May 2025, by Magistrate Sahr Kekura of the Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown for allegedly stabbing one Mustapha Bangura to death. Bindi, who made her first court appearance that day, was charged with one count of Manslaughter, contrary to law. According to police reports, the incident occurred on 2nd April 2025 at Fossic Williams Drive, off Aberdeen Road in Freetown, where the accused allegedly unlawfully killed Mustapha Bangura. When the charge was read and explained, no plea was taken due to the seriousness of the offence. The accused was not represented by legal counsel during the proceedings. ASP Ibrahim Mansaray prosecuted the matter on behalf of the Inspector General of Police. He requested an adjournment, citing the absence of witnesses. Given the gravity of the offence, Magistrate Kekura denied bail and adjourned the case to 23rd May 2025 for further hearing.
