On Friday, 30thDecember 2022, at a ceremony held at the head office of Ecobank, Charlotte Street, Freetown, winners of the Ecobank Save and Win promotion were presented with their prizes, which consisted cash prizes, smart phones and Okada. 5 winners of the first draw bagged NLe1,000 each, 2 second winners bagged smartphones, and Micah Richards won the last draw, which was an Okada.
In his statement, Winston Williams, ED of Ecobank SL, disclosed that the promotion was to encourage Sierra Leoneans to develop the culture of savings, adding that this will help customers to prepare for any unforeseen emergencies. He further laid down the criteria for participating in the draw, which is merely opening an account with the bank, with the provision of any relevant identification document and proof of address, which could simply be that of an EDSA bill paid for the said address. One can save from NLe5,000 to NLe20,000, and stand a chance to win any of the above prizes.
Mr Williams explained that with the digital revolution taking place and the current partnership with mobile companies, customers can access their account in various ways, including using their Express cards service. He encouraged customers to take advantage of this promotion, as they still have the opportunity to win impressive prizes.
Stephen Sandy, Assistant Manager of an Audit Firm, said that they have been observing the process and that the winners are all customers with the bank. Augustine Sankoh, Head of Consumer Banking, expressed happiness over being the first to press button for the first winner. The button for the second draw was done by Mr. Victor, whilst the other draws were done by able personalities of the bank.
Madan Cooper, a customer from Ecobank, said that the bank is a reliable financial institution, and she has been a regular user of the Ecobank mobile app to transfermoney to Senegal.
It was disclosed that the grand prize of a brand new car will be done in April, and the lucky winner should have saved up to NLe20,000 to have the chance to win this grand prize.
The ceremony was climaxed with the handing over of the prizes to the various winners.
